Within the Methodist Church, a District is made up of a number of Circuits, which are themselves "families" of churches geographically based. A District exists primarily to advance the mission of the Church in a region by providing support for the circuits in line with the priorities of the Methodist Church in Britain..
In this video, Chair of the Birmingham District, Novette Headley, and Chair of the Wolverhampton & Shrewsbury District, Rachel Parkinson, chat together about the proposal to create a new West Midlands District of the Methodist Church, to start in September 2025. An "in priniciple" vote on this proposal comes before both Synods on September 9th 2023.
