For the fourth year running, a little bit of extra wonder was found in Shrewsbury. The Shrewsbury Methodists' Christmas Eve Bags have become a local tradition, bringing smiles to families across our communities. This year, we shared these special gifts with friends and neighbours as they left our buildings (having attended events there,) spreading a little festive cheer to take home for the big night.

What’s Inside the bags?
These aren't just ordinary gift bags. Every item inside—some tasty, some
useful—represents a different part of the Christmas story or a gentle reminder of how
we can live in kindness and faith in our daily lives. Can you figure out what the
symbols mean? If you have received a bag you get a secret card directing you to an
‘unboxing video’ to learn what all the symbols mean.

Sharing the Joy
The best part of the Christmas Eve bags, is that they aren't just for the person who
receives them. They are designed to be shared. Whether it’s a snack to enjoy with a
sibling or parent, or a symbolic token to give to a neighbour, these bags help our
communities connect and celebrate Christmas together.
