Since the pandemic, we've been used to gathering for worship on Zoom. Although our online congregation is smaller these days, we believe it remains an important part of our ministry -- and we intend to continue.
However, not everyone can be online at 10:30 on a Sunday morning. Instead of simply recording the service, we've created something more flexible: a self-guided online service you can join at any time and move through at your own pace.
Our new self-guided online service provides a similar experience to the gathered online event, but with complete flexibility. Want to skip a hymn? You can. Want to sing the hymn again? You can do that too! You can pause, pray, and reflect whenever you wish.
The elements of the service will feel familiar if you're used to the flow of a typical Methodist chapel service. You'll find hymns, prayers, a short reflection on the Bible readings, and some suggestions for further thought. The intention is that the service will be updated weekly, on Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Not at all! If you have thoughts or suggestions, we'd love to hear from you -- but feel free to simply use the service as you wish. There are no cookies, no sign-ups, and no tracking. You're very welcome to sneak in at the back and duck out before anyone notices you!
This is very much a work in progress, and some parts might be a little rough around the edges at first. But we hope it will be helpful, whether you're a lifelong Methodist or simply wanting to dip a toe in the water. We invite you to explore the self-guided service whenever it suits you.
