About Us

Belle Vue Methodist Church is a Silver Awarded Eco Church, LGBTQ+ welcoming/inclusive community of faith. Our Sunday worship ranges from the traditional to sometimes incorporating art into our time together. We are an easily accessible church for those with varying abilities and strive to ensure that those who are neurodivegent or have adaptive needs can easily feel at home with us. Our building is equipped with a lift for easy access to the Hermitage Centre.

We are concerned with social justice issues, care of creation, economic witness and many of our congregation volunteer with organisations in Shrewsbury and beyond.

Sister Churches

Sometimes we gather with our sister churches but in the event we are elsewhere someone will be available to offer you a cuppa and we offer self directed spiritual activities.

Our Hopes

We seek to share the good news of Christ by being a worshipping, welcoming, caring Church.

Celtic Church

Occasionally we have Celtic Worship through Gather Ceteria and we are host to fellowship groups as well as Bible study. You can find Gather Ceteria on Facebook or for all our churches here

"I've been living in Shropshire since 2017 and before that on Iona in Scotland for a number of years. I've been in some form of paid accountable ministry since 2000 in various areas of church life and became a Methodist in 2017.

I easily identify with the spiritually curious and therefore try to offer an engaged spirituality whilst upholding those who appreciate tradition. I'm passionate about the environment, equality, interfaith dialogue, science and theology.

For me, being a Christian is being a life long student of Jesus being a Christian and embracing how to live his teachings in my life in the ordinary and extraordinary. My faith (and doubt) has carried me through some difficult challenges in life and it is my hope I can be privileged to journey with others in their joys, sorrows and spiritual journey."
