Inspired by the arrival of a canine companion at the manse, on Saturday 20th July Cleobury Methodists held a fun dog show in this small market town. Borrowing the Anglican’s Vicarage Field near to the chapel and the farmers’ market happening around the parish church, and with classes judged by a local dog trainer it was an enjoyable morning for all involved. With a dozen dogs competing in a range of classes from waggiest tail to obedience and agility there was plenty to entertain.
The next day, Sunday 21st, dogs and other animals were invited to a special service at church. 4 dogs (including the minister’s), 2 gerbils and 6 human visitors were welcomed by the congregation, (the llamas were unable to make it). It was a simple, half hour service followed by refreshments for both humans and animals.
