About Lower Netchwood Methodist Chapel
Lower Netchwood Methodist Chapel is part of the Central Area of the Shropshire and Marches Methodist Circuit. For information about service times, view the preaching plans on the Service Times page. Information about ministers can be found on the Central Area Ministers page.
Lower Netchwood is a small rural chapel in a small hamlet. You can’t call it a village as there are so few houses, only four close to the chapel. We are only 7 members and none of us live near the chapel. We have two main drivers, one comes from Chelmarsh and I (the Steward) come from Cleeton St Mary. On my way to church I pass the other members homes who don’t drive, and collect the congregation. We all lived near Netchwood in our younger days but still enjoy coming to Lower Netchwood because of family. We are a female congregation, sisters, sister-in-law, niece and friends so we have a friendly family fellowship.
We hold some of our meetings in one of the member’s home such as Church Councils, Lent meetings and services when the weather is bad in the winter. We use Digital Hymnal for the music, also we have close links with Church Stretton and Craven Arms. Some of our members also attend the Parish church in Ditton Priors which we’ve also had shared services with. Lower Netchwood has been open for worship for 150 years and on 12th June 2011 we will be celebrating with a service in the chapel followed by tea in the Village Hall at Ditton Priors.
We welcome old and new friends to join us.
